Custom domain
Serve your Hub on your own domain — add it, publish the DNS records, and watch it go live over HTTPS.
What a custom domain gives you
By default your Hub lives on a Truck Pulse address. With a custom domain it serves on one you own —
hub.your-vtc.com instead — with its own HTTPS certificate, issued and renewed for you.
Custom domains are an Elite feature. On other plans the page stays visible, but you will see an upgrade prompt in place of the form — see Billing & plans.
Add your domain
- In your Hub panel, go to Settings → Custom domain.
- Enter the domain you want to use and choose Add domain.
Any subdomain works — hub., www., anything you like. A bare domain like your-vtc.com only
works if your DNS provider supports CNAME flattening (sometimes called ALIAS or ANAME records) at the
root. If you are not sure, use a subdomain; it works everywhere.
Publish the DNS records
Once the domain is added, the page shows the records to create at your DNS provider:
- TXT records — these prove you own the domain. Add them first: they let your HTTPS certificate be issued before you send any real traffic, so visitors never meet a certificate warning.
- A CNAME record — this points your domain at Truck Pulse once the certificate is ready.
Copy each record exactly as shown. The most common mistake is a DNS provider adding your domain name onto the end of the record name a second time, or wrapping the value in extra quotes.
DNS changes are not instant. Providers publish them on their own schedule — usually minutes, but it can take longer.
Watch it go live
The page shows a live status while everything settles. You can leave it and come back; Refresh status re-checks on demand.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Waiting for DNS records | Your TXT records have not been seen yet. Check they exist exactly as shown, then refresh. |
| Issuing certificate | Ownership is confirmed and your HTTPS certificate is being issued. Usually a few minutes. |
| Active | Your certificate is live. Point the CNAME at the target shown and your Hub serves over HTTPS. |
| Attention needed | Verification did not complete — almost always a TXT record that does not match. Fix it and refresh. |
| Removed — redirecting | You removed the domain; visitors are still being redirected for a while. |
The order matters: add the TXT records first and wait for Active, then add the CNAME. Do it the other way round and visitors reach your domain before the certificate exists.
Remove a domain
Choose Remove domain. Your Hub goes back to its Truck Pulse address immediately, and for the next 30 days anyone visiting the old domain is redirected there rather than meeting an error — so a link someone bookmarked or posted in Discord keeps working while word gets round.
Update or delete the DNS records at your provider whenever convenient during that window.
If something is not working
- Stuck on "Waiting for DNS records" — the TXT records are the usual cause. Compare them character by character with the page, watching for a doubled domain name in the record's name or stray quotes in its value.
- "Attention needed" — same check. If it keeps failing after the records are definitely right, remove the domain and add it again.
- The domain loads the wrong thing — the CNAME is pointing somewhere else, or an older A record for the same name is still present and winning. Remove any competing records for that name.
